Obituary

David Andrew Rabb, 77, of Oakwood, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. A man of deep Roman Catholic faith, David was born and raised in Munhall before making Oakwood his home for the past 45 years.  David lived a life of service and dedication. After graduating from Munhall High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving as a radio operator aboard C-130 aircraft and traveling the world. With the support of the G.I. Bill, he continued his education at Penn State Allegheny (then McKeesport) and later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned placement on the Dean’s List and his bachelor’s degree in social work.

Throughout his career, David held many roles that reflected his commitment to serving others—including as a social worker, a mail carrier, and a state parole officer. He ultimately found his calling as a firefighter for the City of Pittsburgh, where he served with pride and retired honorably in 2006. In retirement, he continued his spirit of service as a dedicated member of St. Vincent de Paul.
